PinG WA Chair and Incoming National Chair, Nicole Batten is one of four state finalists in the 2016 Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) Rural Woman of the Year Award.

The WA winner, to be announced mid March, will receive a $10,000 bursary and progress as a finalist for the national award.

If Nicole is successful she will use her bursary for a community focussed project aimed at stimulating rural growth. By increasing the uptake of the ‘Rent a Farmhouse’ scheme in WA, Nicole would like to see rural areas viewed as somewhere people choose to live rather than choose¬†to leave.

Coincidentally 2 of the other 3 WA finalists, Judy Snell and Maree Gooch are presenting at PinG WA’s INSPIRE Summit in April.

Good luck Nicole!! Click here for more info on the award and other WA finalists.
